Brent Laurenz, director of outreach
Brent Laurenz joined the Center as director of outreach after working on political campaigns and in nonprofit government relations in Washington, D.C. and Virginia. He received a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech and a master's degree in political management from the George Washington University.
Bryan Warner, director of communications
Bryan Warner oversees the Center's broadcast, print and online communications, serving as general manager of VoterRadio.com and editor of The Voter Update Magazine, as well as the Center's webmaster. He earned a bachelor's degree in communication and Spanish from Western Carolina University and an associate degree in Web technologies from Wake Technical Community College.
Kelly Kessler, spring 2012 intern
Originally from Kutztown, Pennsylvania, Kelly Kessler is currently a senior studying political science at the University of North Carolina. She has spent time interning in Pennsylvania and on Capitol Hill for her local representatives. She is interested in public policy issues, the idiosyncrasies that abound in politics and Tar Heel basketball. Kelly is excited about the mission of the Center and looks forward to working for voters in North Carolina.
Beth Peterson, spring 2012 intern
Beth Peterson is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying public relations in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a double major in political science. Born in Chapel Hill, she grew up in a very politically active community, which sparked her interest in politics and civic participation in the electoral process. As an intern at the Center, Beth hopes to gain experience working with political issues in a nonpartisan and informative manner as well as help the Center work to increase educated political engagement in North Carolina.
Eimile Stokes, spring 2012 intern
Eimile Stokes is currently a junior studying Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy and a minor in Journalism at North Carolina State University. Eimile is from Cornelius, North Carolina. Her interest in politics and the law began in high school when she participated in several programs focusing on current public policy issues and bringing justice to the community. Since enrolling at N.C. State, Eimile participated in the Pre Law Student Association and studied abroad at The University of Manchester School of Law in the United Kingdom. She recently became interested in the influence of the media and journalistic publications on public opinion and voter education.
